John Leonard was named head of equities at Delaware Investments, a firm spokeswoman said.
Effective March 3, Mr. Leonard will oversee the firm's nine U.S.-based equity investment teams and serve as a member of the firm's senior leadership team. He also will be a part of the global management committee.
He replaces Michael Hogan, who retired.
Mr. Leonard will be based in Philadelphia and report to Shawn K. Lytle, president of Delaware Investments. Mr. Lytle will continue to serve as interim head of equities until March 3.
Mr. Leonard was global head of equities at UBS Asset Management. UBS spokesman Peter Stack did not know at press time whether he's been replaced.
Delaware Investments had $174.2 billion in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
