Kimberly G. Walker, chief investment officer of Washington University Investment Management Co., is resigning effective Dec. 31, said Julie Hail Flory, university spokeswoman, in an e-mail.
Ms. Walker, who oversees the investment management of the St. Louis-based university’s $6.9 billion endowment, has been CIO since 2006. She will work with the university on a consulting basis during the search for her replacement. Ms. Flory said nothing further is known about Ms. Walker’s plans.
Eric Upin, managing director and head of portfolio strategies at Makena Capital Management and WUIMCO board member and university board of trustees member, will serve as interim CIO until a replacement is named. He will lead the search for a permanent replacement.
