Chris Bires was named director of product strategy and investor relations at 50 South Capital Advisors, confirmed Northern Trust spokesman John O’Connell.
The position is new. 50 South Capital Advisors is a subsidiary of Northern Trust.
Mr. Bires will focus on developing the firm’s suite of alternatives investment strategies for institutional and high-net-worth clients including private equity, hedge fund, private credit, infrastructure and real asset investments.
50 South Capital has approximately $4 billion in assets under management and approximately $1.7 billion in assets under advisement as of Sept. 30, Mr. O’Connell said.
Mr. Bires was most recently a director of global distribution at Citadel, where he was responsible for business development and client relationships in North America. A spokesman for Citadel was not available for immediate comment on a replacement.
