IK Investment Partners has closed the €1.85 billion ($1.96 billion) IK VIII Fund, spokeswoman Mikaela Hedborg said.
The middle-market buyout fund that concentrates on investments in companies in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Nordic nations exceeded its €1.6 billion fundraising target.
The European private equity firm's previous fund, IK VII Fund, closed at €1.4 billion in 2013.
Investors in the current fund include the $184.5 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund and $109.2 billion New York State Teachers' Retirement System, both in Albany, and the Minnesota State Board of Investment, St. Paul, which oversees $80.9 billion in state pension and other assets.
