New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, made two new commitments totaling $350 million, said an October transaction report posted on the website of Thomas DiNapoli, the state comptroller and sole trustee of the $184.5 billion pension fund.
The pension fund committed $200 million to Pramerica Real Estate Capital VI, a closed-end European real estate debt fund managed by PGIM Real Estate.
PGIM Real Estate is the European real estate business of Prudential Financial. It is the pension fund’s first commitment to a PGIM fund.
Also, the pension fund committed $150 million to GSO Capital Opportunities Fund III, a mezzanine debt fund managed by GSO Capital Partners. The pension fund committed $100 million to GSO Capital Solutions Fund II in 2013.
