Christopher Saik was named chief investment officer of the $798 million Louisiana Municipal Employees’ Retirement System, Baton Rouge, said Warren Ponder, executive director.
Mr. Saik is the pension fund’s first CIO. The position was created by the pension fund board in June when it split the duties of executive director, which previously oversaw all the administration and investment management of the pension fund.
Mr. Saik, who started Nov. 14, was previously CIO at the $1.8 billion Louisiana School Employees’ Retirement System, Baton Rouge. LSERS Executive Director Charles Bujol could not be immediately reached to provide further information.
