London Stock Exchange Group agreed to acquire Mergent, a corporate financial information provider.
Terms were not disclosed. The deal is expected to close by Jan. 31.
Mergent will be added to LSEG's information services division, which includes index provider FTSE Russell and other data reference businesses such as SEDOL Masterfile, which provides data for the U.K's Stock Exchange Daily Official List codes.
Mergent will retain its brand name after the acquisition, and Jonathan Worrall, CEO of Mergent, will remain in that role, said Mark Benhard, LSEG spokesman.
Lazard Middle Market was financial adviser to Mergent on the deal, and Sagent Advisors was LSEG's financial adviser, LSEG said in a news release.
