Thomas J. Barrack Jr., founder and executive chairman of real estate money manager Colony Capital, was named chairman of President-elect Donald J. Trump’s Presidential Inaugural Committee, confirmed Kristin Celauro, Colony Capital spokeswoman
The Presidential Inaugural Committee is responsible for planning and coordinating the events surrounding the inauguration.
Mr. Barrack was deputy undersecretary of the U.S. Department of Interior during the administration of former President Ronald Reagan. He is also Mr. Trump’s economic and national security adviser.
Also on the committee is Lewis Eisenberg, founder of private equity firm Granite Capital International Group who was a senior adviser to KKR & Co. Mr. Eisenberg is the committee’s co-chairman of finance alongside Roy Bailey, a partner and managing director at Giuliani Partners, a management consulting and security consulting business founded by former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani. Other committee members include Tommy Hicks, partner at Hicks Holdings, an investment firm founded by his father Thomas O. Hicks, a founding partner of the private equity firm formerly known as Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst; Gail Icahn, spouse of activist investor Carl Icahn; and Elliott Broidy, chairman and CEO of investment firm Broidy Capital Management.
