Voya Financial's assets under management totaled $283 billion as of Sept. 30, up 2.5% from June 30 and up 5.2% from the year before, the money manager said in its earnings report released Wednesday.
Assets under administration for the company were $197 billion as of Sept. 30, up 3.7% from June 30 but down 8.5% from Sept. 30, 2015.
Voya's retirement segment had net inflows of $1.4 billion, compared with net inflows of $693 million in the previous quarter and net outflows of $1.1 billion in the third quarter of 2015.
Voya Financial posted a net loss of $248 million for the quarter, vs. net income of $162 million for the second quarter and a net loss of $40 million in the third quarter of 2015.
Total operating revenue, meanwhile, was $2.22 billion, down 1% from the previous quarter and down 17.2% from the same period a year earlier.
