Walter Kress was named chief investment officer for the defined benefit and defined contribution plans of Ernst & Young LLP, Secaucus, N.J., as well as treasurer for EY Americas.
Mr. Kress, in an e-mail, confirmed he started his new job Oct. 10, replacing Kym Hubbard, who retired earlier this year.
Mr. Kress was previously a managing director with J.P. Morgan Chase's retirement plans. A spokeswoman could not provide further information on his role or if he was replaced, by press time.
EY had $6.77 billion in U.S. defined benefit assets and $7.2 billion in U.S. defined contribution assets as of Dec. 31, according to its most recent Form 5500 filings.
