Drew Schechtman was named vice president, environment, social and governance integration leader at Voya Investment Management, spokesman Kristopher Kagel said.
The position is new. Mr. Schechtman, who started Monday, is responsible for integrating ESG investment disciplines across the firm’s four investment platforms — equity, fixed income, loans and multiasset. Alongside parent Voya Financial’s office of corporate responsibility, he serves as a lead advocate for ESG internally and externally — including developing an ESG education platform for investors.
Mr. Schechtman is based in New York and reports to Voya Investment Management’s investment committee.
Mr. Schechtman was vice president and head of sustainability and environmental investing at Bank of New York Mellon. Scott Golla, vice president of business and environmental sustainability, is taking on his responsibilities, said spokeswoman Amanda Changuris.
Voya Investment Management had more than $218 billion in assets under management as of June 30.
