Linda Cunningham joined Cbus, the superannuation fund for Australia's construction and building industries, as manager, debt, with responsibility for overseeing the alternative debt sector on the Melbourne-based fund's public markets team.
The position, which includes designing and implementing internally managed strategies in that area, is a new one at the A$34 billion ($26 billion) fund, spokesman James Bennett said.
Ms. Cunningham was executive director, debt investments at infrastructure manager IFM Investors.
A spokesman for IFM said a search underway now for a replacement will include a number of strong internal candidates.
Cbus also hired Anna Weickart in Sydney as a senior investment analyst on Cbus' public markets team, overseeing international and Australian equity manager research. The position is new, said a news release Tuesday.
Ms. Weickart was an investment consultant, manager research at Willis Towers Watson. A Willis Towers Watson spokeswoman said Ms. Weickart had recently returned to Australia after a long stint at the firm's offices in Germany. In Australia, Ms. Weickart was filling a position for a colleague on temporary leave.
In addition, Cbus also hired Alex Miller as an infrastructure transaction specialist on the superannuation fund's private market team, also a new position, the news release said.
Mr. Miller was a director on the infrastructure and projects team of accounting and consulting firm KPMG. A KPMG spokesman couldn't immediately comment on plans to fill that position.
