Louisiana Firefighters’ Retirement System, Baton Rouge, hired Boston Partners to run a global equity portfolio, said recently released board meeting minutes.
The $1.3 billion pension fund issued an RFP earlier this year; a portfolio size could not be learned by press time. However, in February, the pension fund redeemed its $44 million investment in a BlackRock global equity strategy because of the firm’s decision to close that strategy, according to February board meeting minutes. The board at that time approved temporarily placing those assets in index funds.
The other finalists were Principal Global Investors and Walter Scott & Partners.
Investment consultant NEPC assisted.
