John Graham was named managing director and head of principal credit investments at the C$287.3 billion ($218.8 billion) Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Toronto, spokesman Dan Madge said.
Mr. Graham replaces Adam Vigna, who is leaving CPPIB to become managing partner and chief investment officer at activist small-cap and midcap equity manager Sagard Capital. Officials at Sagard could not be reached for further comment.
Mr. Graham was managing director and head of portfolio investment and business management in private investments at CPPIB. Mr. Madge said Mr. Graham’s replacement has not been named.
Mr. Graham’s appointment comes a month after Shane Feeney was named senior managing director and global head of private investments, replacing Mark Jenkins, who became head of global credit at alternatives money manager Carlyle Group.
