Choon Wah Wong was named CEO of Standard Life Investments' newly opened Singapore office.
A Standard Life news release said Mr. Wong will have responsibility for building a real estate fund management team and manufacturing platform for the Asia-Pacific region, in addition to overall management of the Singapore office.
The release said he comes to Standard Life Investments from Partners Group in Singapore, where he served as senior vice president. Jenny Blinch, a spokeswoman for Partners Group, said a search is underway to fill Mr. Wong's position.
The Singapore office is Standard Life Investments' sixth in the Asia-Pacific region, after Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing and Sydney.
Joining Mr. Wong in the Singapore office are Ted Roy, deputy fund manager, relocating from Standard Life's Edinburgh office; Jason Lam, associate investment director, Asia wholesale sales, relocating from the firm's Hong Kong office; and Tervinder Chal, head of Asia-Pacific real estate finance and operations.
Mr. Chal comes to Standard Life from the Singapore office of funds service provider Alter Domus, where he served as country executive-Singapore, according to a Hong Kong-based spokeswoman.
