S&P Dow Jones Indices on Oct. 1 acquired a 98.13% stake in Trucost, a carbon and risk analysis provider, said Soogyung Jordan, S&P Dow Jones spokeswoman.
The remaining stake in London-based Trucost will be held by its existing shareholders, but S&P Dow Jones Indices will acquire the remaining stakes in the coming months, Ms. Jordan said.
The total acquisition price for Trucost is £14.2 million pounds ($18.4 million), Ms. Jordan said.
The Trucost brand will be maintained, Ms. Jordan said, although whether it will be moved under S&P Dow Jones Indices or parent S&P Global has not been determined.
Alex Matturri, CEO of S&P Dow Jones Indices, said in a news release that the acquisition will help S&P Dow Jones meet the growing demand of environmental, social and governance data.
