Jason Fletcher was appointed assistant director-investments at the West Midlands Pension Fund, Wolverhampton, England.
The £11.7 billion ($15.2 billion) pension fund announced the appointment on its website.
Mr. Fletcher replaced Mark Chaloner, who decided to return to London in August, said a statement provided by a WMPF spokesman. He will lead the 17-strong investment team, which is responsible for managing the pension fund’s active and passive equities, and alternative and fixed-income portfolios.
Mr. Fletcher was head of North American equities at Universities Superannuation Scheme, Liverpool. According to the Financial Services Register, he left in April. A USS spokeswoman said Mr. Fletcher was not directly replaced. Executives have reviewed the equities strategy and are building a concentrated global developed markets portfolio, complementing its global emerging markets portfolio and factor portfolios. USS has also recruited additional research analysts to support the global developed markets portfolio.
