Allen Huang and Julia Lee were named directors of investments for Michigan State University’s $2.3 billion endowment, said Philip Zecher, chief investment officer of the East Lansing-based university, in an e-mail.
Mr. Huang and Ms. Lee joined the university earlier this month, MSU spokesman Tom Oswald said in an e-mail. Both are new positions, the latest additions to MSU’s investment team and part of an expansion that began in December when Mr. Zecher was hired as the university’s first CIO.
Mr. Huang was previously director of fixed income at the $30.8 billion Indiana Public Retirement System, Indianapolis. INPRS spokeswoman Jalissa Hills said the pension fund is currently seeking his replacement.
Ms. Lee was previously senior investment officer for private equity at the South Carolina Retirement System Investment Commission, which oversees the investments of the $28 billion South Carolina Retirement Systems, Columbia. Danny Varat, RSIC spokesman, said in an e-mail the commission is currently seeking her replacement.
