Alexandra West will join Melbourne-based Cbus, the A$34 billion ($25.5 billion) superannuation fund for Australia’s construction and building industries, in the role of investment manager, innovation and strategy, starting Oct. 5, said Cbus spokesman James Bennett.
The Sydney-based position is new. Ms. West will report to Kristian Fok, the fund’s executive manager, investment strategy.
Ms. West said in an e-mail she has worked as an independent adviser to superannuation funds, asset managers and other institutional investors for the past nine years. She said her focus will include strategic initiatives, possibly in areas such as affordable housing or investing in ways that bolster the construction industry, as well as forging strategic partnerships with like-minded institutional investors globally.
