Daniel Melley left Winton Group as global head of consultant relations and is set to join Putnam Investments, said sources.
Mr. Melley joined Winton in the newly created role in January 2015. Prior to that, he was head of U.K. fiduciary management at consultant Mercer. The firm managed $35 billion in hedge funds and other alternative investment strategies as of June 30.
Mr. Melley will oversee Putnam’s institutional efforts in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in a newly created role, said one source. The manager had $153 billion in assets under management, of which $80 billion is in institutional AUM, as of Aug. 31, according to its website.
Spokesmen for Winton and Putnam declined to comment.
