Frank Roeters van Lennep was named chief investment officer private markets at PGGM Investments, a spokesman said.
He replaces Ruulke Bagijn, who left in May to join AXA Investment Managers as global head of real assets private equity, based in Paris.
Based in Utrech, Netherlands, Mr. van Lennep will continue as head of infrastructure until PGGM finds a replacement, a news release said. The spokesman declined to comment on whether the post will be filled externally.
PGGM's private markets unit includes infrastructure, with €5.6 billion ($6.2 billion) in assets under management; private equity at €10.1 billion; private real estate with €11 billion; and insurance-linked and structured credit assets, accounting for €6.7 billion.
Listed real estate, at €11 billion, also falls under the responsibility of Mr. van Lennep, the spokesman said.
The €200.2 billion firm manages the assets of the €184 billion Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn, Zeist, Netherlands.
Mr. van Lennep was appointed head of infrastructure investments at PGGM in 2014.
