John Hancock Investments named three people to its exchange-traded funds team, said spokeswoman Beth McGoldrick.
Steven L. Deroian was chosen head of ETF strategy, while Michelle M. Fuller and Burns M. Lowry joined the firm as managing directors, ETF sales specialists, on the institutional sales team. They are new positions.
Mr. Deroian will oversee and manage John Hancock's ETF business. Ms. Fuller and Mr. Lowry will work with the firm's wholesalers on the sales teams providing ETF sales support across distribution channels.
Mr. Deroian will report to Philip Fontana, head of product development, while Ms. Fuller and Mr. Lowry will report to Todd Cassler, president of institutional distribution.
Mr. Deroian was senior vice president and North American product specialist for the smart beta client solutions unit at Rothschild Asset Management. Ms. Fuller was senior vice president, ETF strategy, for Pacific Investment Management Co. Mr. Lowry was an ETF specialist at BlackRock's iShares unit, focusing on bank wealth management.
