Steven Dalzell joined Abu Dhabi Investment Authority as head of transition management in its central dealing department, said a spokesman.
The role is new, and Mr. Dalzell is based in Abu Dhabi. He reports to Salem Alblooshi, executive director of the central dealing department.
He leads the centralized team with responsibility for managing and implementing multiasset-class portfolio transitions, including pre-trade analysis, project planning, implementation and reporting. He works closely with the strategy unit at the fund and its investment departments, developing and executing transition projects internally.
“(Mr. Dalzell's) wealth of experience in planning, managing and executing the movement of assets across investment portfolios will further enhance the internal service currently provided to our investment teams,” said Mr. Alblooshi in a news release.
The fund, which does not disclose its assets, is estimated to have $792 billion in assets by the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute.
Mr. Dalzell was global head of transition management at Citigroup Global Markets, leading a team of investment professionals based in London, Sydney and New York, said the ADIA release. Spokesmen for Citigroup could not immediately be reached for comment.
