Nick Cole joined the Pensions Infrastructure Platform as investment director, said a spokeswoman for the PiP.
The role is new. Mr. Cole's appointment will help the business to continue to grow its multistrategy infrastructure fund, which recently closed on its first portfolio investment, and to increase direct investment in U.K. infrastructure assets, said Mike Weston, CEO at PiP, in a news release.
Mr. Cole was an investment manager for infrastructure funds at Aberdeen Asset Management, with primary responsibility for all new business development in the waste sector. A spokesman for Aberdeen said his responsibilities will be absorbed by the existing team.
The PiP is an infrastructure business developed by pension funds in the U.K., and has £125 million ($166.1 million) of assets under management.
