Huw van Steenis was appointed global head of strategy at Schroders, said a spokeswoman.
It is a new position, and Mr. van Steenis will also join the group management committee. He will be based in London and will start in the fourth quarter.
He will report to Peter Harrison, group CEO at Schroders.
Mr. van Steenis will be responsible for business strategy and corporate development at the £343.8 billion ($449.4 billion) money manager, a news release said. He will focus on medium- and longer-term strategy development.
Mr. van Steenis was managing director and global coordinator banks and diversified financials research at Morgan Stanley.
