Andrew Moss was named CEO of Winton Investment Management as part of internal restructuring by Winton Capital Group that began in February.
Winton Capital Group dropped the “Capital” from its name to become Winton Group under the leadership of David Harding, founder and CEO, said James Gilbert, senior vice president and head of the firm’s executive office.
In addition to the investment management division, Winton Group created three other units: Winton Research, Winton Data and Winton Technology. These divisions interact with Winton Investment Management, which remains “at the center of the firm’s organizational chart,” Mr. Gilbert said, by providing investment research, data collection advances and systems development.
Among the areas under the investment division’s purview are investment strategy management, trading execution, back- and middle-office operations, reporting and investor relationship management.
Mr. Moss was Winton’s global head of portfolio solutions. Information about his replacement could not be learned by press time.
Winton managed $35 billion in hedge funds and other alternative investment strategies as of June 30.
