Philip Pacey was named a principal in AMP Capital's infrastructure equity team, said a spokeswoman.
The position is new, and Mr. Pacey joins Thursday.
Based in London, Mr. Pacey will report to David Rees, partner and head of asset management, Europe.
Mr. Pacey was most recently an independent consultant at ESVAGT, an emergency response and rescue services provider for the offshore oil and gas industry in Denmark and Norway. AMP Capital owns 50% of that business.
AMP Capital has A$160 billion ($122 billion) of assets under management.
