Madison Dearborn Partners closed its latest flagship private equity fund, Madison Dearborn Capital Partners VII, at the private equity firm's $4.4 billion hard cap, said John Eric Knutsen, a Madison Dearborn managing director, in a letter to investors obtained by Pensions & Investments.
The fund is a buyout and growth equity fund that will invest mainly in companies in North America.
Investors in the fund include the $44.6 billion Illinois Teachers' Retirement System, Springfield, $78 billion Minnesota State Board of Investment, St. Paul; and the $9.9 billion long-term endowment pool of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
