Hudson Smith has joined Thoma Bravo as a partner, a spokeswoman said.
It is a new position.
Mr. Smith will initially work on the firm's lower middle-market private equity fund, the $1.1 billion Thoma Bravo Discover Fund, where he will focus on finding and managing software investments. The fund closed earlier this year.
He was a managing director at private equity firm HGGC. Harv Barenz, principal at HGGC, could not be reached by press time seeking replacement information.
