Houston Firefighters' Relief & Retirement Fund allocated up to $180 million total to three managers, pending final negotiations, said investment committee meeting minutes provided by Ajit Singh, chief investment officer.
The $3.7 billion pension fund hired BlackRock to manage up to $80 million, with an initial investment of $60 million, in its Russell Mid-Cap Value exchange-traded fund.
Separately, the pension fund committed $50 million each to Energy Trust Partners V, a natural resources fund, and Delta-v Capital 2015, a private equity fund.
