Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board, Boston, invested or committed a total of $300 million to a hedge fund and two private equity funds, said documents from the $60.6 billion pension fund.
At its Aug. 9 meeting, the board approved investing $150 million in Land & Buildings Capital Growth Fund in a separately managed account. Land & Buildings Capital Growth is a concentrated fundamental long/short equity and event-driven strategy that invests in public real estate markets, managed by Land & Buildings Investment Management.
The board also approved committing $100 million to Kainos Capital Partners II, a private equity fund that makes investments in North American food and consumer products companies.
Finally, MassPRIM's board committed $50 million in Sofinnova Venture Partners X, managed by Sofinnova Ventures.
