Andreas Zingg was named head of exchange-traded fund distribution management for continental Europe at Vanguard Group, said a spokeswoman.
The position is new; Mr. Zingg is based in the money manager's Zurich office.
The spokeswoman said in an e-mail that the hire brings further depth and senior experience to the firm's European ETF business. The firm has $570 billion in ETF assets under management across the globe, and has a total $3.6 trillion in assets under management.
Mr. Zingg joined the firm from BlackRock's iShares business, where he was responsible for the distribution of iShares ETFs in the EMEA region. A spokesman for BlackRock could not be reached for comment by press time.
