New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, made $432 million in commitments in June, said the website of state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, the sole trustee of the $178.1 billion fund.
The pension fund committed $182 million to Green Equity Investors VII, managed by Leonard Green & Partners. The fund focuses on retail, business service and health-care companies in North America.
The pension fund previously invested in three other Leonard Green funds, said Matthew Sweeney, a spokesman for Mr. DiNapoli, in an e-mail.
The pension fund also committed $250 million to Kayne Private Energy Income Fund, managed by Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, which invests in oil and gas assets. It is the first commitment to a Kayne Anderson fund.
