Louisiana Municipal Employees’ Retirement System, Baton Rouge, is searching for its first chief investment officer, said Warren Ponder, executive director.
The $750 million pension fund is posting an advertisement for the position on its website on Sunday. The deadline for applicants is Sept. 2.
The pension fund’s board split the duties of the position of executive director at its June 16 meeting, when Mr. Ponder was hired as executive director to replace previous executive director Robert Rust, who oversaw both the administration and investment management of the pension fund until his retirement in June 2015.
Mr. Ponder had served in the position on an interim basis since Mr. Rust’s retirement. He said in a telephone interview the pension fund plans to hire its CIO before the end of the year.
