Joy Malone was named director at research at Loop Capital Markets.
The position is new, said Kourtney Ratliff Gibson, Loop Capital president. Ms. Malone will lead the firm's new equity research business.
Ms. Malone was director of research at broker-dealer Topeka Capital Markets. Topeka closed earlier this year.
Loop Capital's new equity research business will focus on the Internet, media and entertainment, oil field services and transportation sectors.
