Paul Vosper has joined PIMCO as an executive vice president and real estate strategist, said spokesman Michael Reid.
The position is new. Mr. Vosper is based in the firm's New York office and reports to Jennifer Bridwell, managing director and global head of PIMCO's alternative products.
PIMCO has a real estate team of 49 people. In a news release, firm officials say Mr. Vosper’s hiring is part of a continuing expansion of PIMCO’s alternatives business.
Pacific Investment Management Co. managed approximately $25 billion in alternative strategies, including $9.2 billion in opportunistic real estate strategies worldwide as of March 31.
Prior to joining PIMCO, Mr. Vosper was co-head and chief operating officer for Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners where he was responsible for real estate investment strategies and developing real estate customized solutions for both institutional and private clients.
A spokesman for Morgan Stanley could not immediately be reached for comment on Mr. Vosper’s replacement.
