Erik N. Saarinen was named vice president and director of institutional relationship management at Eaton Vance Management, spokeswoman Colleen Lavery said.
Mr. Saarinen replaced Susan Brengle, who was promoted to managing director, institutional in the second half of 2015.
Mr. Saarinen, who started earlier this week in Boston, oversees institutional relationship management and client service activities in North America and helps coordinate client management activities globally, a news release said.
Eaton Vance Management also named Walter L. Lindsay Jr. vice president, institutional business development. Mr. Lindsay replaced Mike Dirstine, who joined Pioneer Investments last year as senior vice president, institutional business development officer, Ms. Lavery wrote. Mr. Lindsay, who started earlier this month in Atlanta, will develop relationships with institutional investors in the Southern U.S.
Both Messrs. Saarinen and Lindsay report to Ms. Brengle.
Previously, Mr. Saarinen was head of global institutional relationship management at Columbia Threadneedle Investments. He was replaced internally by Peter Mitchell, an equity client portfolio manager.
Mr. Lindsay was previously senior vice president, marketing and client services at Herndon Capital Management. A spokeswoman for Herndon Capital could not immediately be reached for information on a replacement.
Eaton Vance and its affiliates managed $325.6 billion in assets as of June 30.
