Michael Levitt joined alternative investment firm Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors as CEO, said Paul Blank, managing director for strategic planning and public affairs.
Mr. Levitt replaces Robert Sinnott, who is now president and co-chairman of Kayne Anderson.
Mr. Levitt was vice chairman of alternative investment firm Apollo Global Management’s credit business. Mr. Levitt founded and had been CEO of credit management firm Stone Tower until the firm was acquired by Apollo in 2011.
“With the addition of Mike, we have strengthened our executive leadership team, provided for continuity in management for the next generation, and ensured my intent for Kayne to remain a private, independent firm for the long term,” said Ric Kayne, co-chairman and founder of Kayne Anderson.
Charles Zehren, Apollo spokesman, declined to comment.
