Texas County & District Retirement System, Austin, committed a total of $80 million to two private investment funds, a transaction report on the pension fund’s website showed.
In private equity, the $24.3 billion pension fund committed $50 million to Vista Foundation Fund III, managed by Vista Equity Partners. The buyout fund will invest in North American smidcap software and technology companies.
The pension fund also committed $30 million to Joy Capital I, a venture capital fund managed by Joy Capital Management which is focused on venture capital opportunities in China, said Paul J. Williams, chief investment officer, in an e-mail.
Year-to-date June 30, TCDRS has committed a total of $417.5 million from its private equity portfolio, $217.5 million of which was earmarked for investment in nine venture capital funds.
