New York State Common earmarks $1.16 billion for private equity

The New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, made four private equity commitments totaling $1.16 billion in April, said a transaction report on the website of State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, the sole trustee of the $178.1 billion fund.

The commitments are:

Thoma Bravo is a new relationship for the pension fund. It has invested with the other three managers.

Matthew Sweeney, a spokesman for Mr. DiNapoli, did not provide additional information by press time.
