Joey Alcock joined investment consultant bfinance as a senior associate on the public markets team, specializing in equities, a spokesman said.
The spokesman said the position is not new, and that Mr. Alcock was hired following promotions in the public markets team. He reports to Justin Preston, director, head of equity, public markets investment advisory.
Mr. Alcock is responsible for investment advice services in equities across all regions and covers active management, traditional passive and smart beta allocations. He also helps to refine the manager search due diligence process at bfinance.
“Alongside his extensive consulting experience, he has worked directly for major asset owners and brings in-depth knowledge of the Australian market where bfinance recently launched a new office,” said Mathias Neidert, managing director, head of public markets investment advisory at bfinance, in a news release. “While equities are a staple of our clients' portfolios, identifying managers that fit investors' specific needs and securing attractive fees remains challenging. Handling allocations to equities still requires a rigorous and transparent methodology and excellent knowledge of these markets.”
Mr. Alcock was previously a consultant at Australian investment consultant Frontier. Spokesmen could not be reached for comment by press time.
