San Luis Obispo County (Calif.) Deferred Compensation Plan is searching for a provider, said Carl Nelson, deputy administrator, in an e-mail.
The search is being conducted to “test the market for alternative providers,” Mr. Nelson wrote.
Empower Retirement, which has served as the provider for more than 10 years, is invited to rebid.
The RFP will be available on the county's website. Proposals are due by Aug 22. A hiring decision is expected in the fourth quarter.
The 457 plan has about $150 million in assets.
Mr. Nelson is also executive secretary and chief investment officer of the $1.1 billion San Luis Obispo County Pension Trust.
