Tim Nguyen was named interim chief investment officer for the $8.3 billion Rhode Island Employees’ Retirement System, Providence.
He is filling the post of Anne-Marie Fink, who will leave July 14 to become managing director and CIO of Matheys Lane Capital Management, a multifamily office in Providence, said David Ortiz, spokesman for Seth Magaziner, Rhode Island general treasurer.
Mr. Nguyen will report to Mr. Magaziner.
Mr. Nguyen is a former CIO of the University of Connecticut Foundation Inc.’s $363 million endowment and is an adjunct professor of finance at Brown University. His responsibilities at the UConn Foundation were taken over by investment analyst Shahid Farooqi, said Jerry Ganz, chief financial officer of the foundation.
