Kate Moore was named chief equity strategist for the Americas at BlackRock, said an internal memo provided by the firm. Additionally, Sarah Silverman was named a director in the company's consultant relations group, spokeswoman Olivia Offner said.
Both positions are new.
As part of the investment strategy team at the BlackRock Investment Institute, Ms. Moore will be responsible for developing global equity market views and representing BlackRock's market views for equities across all U.S. client platforms and in the media. She will be based in New York and report to Richard Turnill, managing director and global chief investment strategist.
Ms. Silverman will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with U.S. investment consultants. She will report to Neetika Singh, managing director and head of the consultant relations group in the U.S. and Canada.
Ms. Moore was the chief investment strategist for the private bank at J.P. Morgan. Ms. Silverman was head of investor relations and business development at Kingdon Capital Management.
It could not be learned by press time whether either was replaced; J.P. Morgan spokeswoman Kaitlin Finnerty declined to comment, and a spokesman for Kingdon could not be immediately reached for comment by press time.
