Shinwoo Kang was named chief investment officer of the Korea Investment Corp., said a news release from the $85 billion Seoul-based sovereign wealth fund.
Mr. Kang, who started Monday, replaces Heungsik Choo who will become director of the World Bank’s investment management division on Aug. 8.
Previously, Mr. Kang was CEO of Hanwha Asset Management. He has also served as CIO of Korea Investment Management and PCA Asset Management. A Hanwha official could not immediately be reached for information on a replacement.
A KIC spokeswoman could not immediately be reached for additional information.
