Heungsik Choo was named director of the World Bank’s investment management division, a spokesman said in an e-mail.
The spokesman declined to comment on whom Mr. Choo replaces.
Mr. Choo’s responsibilities will include overseeing $130 billion in assets for the bank’s lending arms, trust funds and investment guarantee agency and clients. He will start Aug 8.
Mr. Choo is currently chief investment officer of the $85 billion Korea Investment Corp., Seoul. A spokesman could not immediately be reached for information on a replacement.
