Institutional Shareholder Services introduced an analytical tool enabling portfolio managers and other institutional investors to mine the governance and responsible investment data across the thousands of publicly traded companies worldwide it covers to aid in investment portfolio selection, monitoring and risk management, ISS said in a news release Wednesday.
“Today’s launch reflects the growing recognition that portfolio managers and analysts are increasingly incorporating governance data in their risk mitigation analysis and are looking to complement traditional research with information often overlooked by fundamental analytics,” the news release said.
“With the launch of ISS Analytics, our clients will now have far greater visibility and insight into extra-financial risks and opportunities,” said Stephen Harvey, ISS chief operating officer, in the release.
ISS Analytics’ data sets, available for clients, cover responsible investing, corporate performance, board practices, director characteristics, shareholder rights, takeover defenses, and factors related to audit functions.
ISS plans to add other data sets to the platform later in the year.
