Isabelle Bourcier joined THEAM, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas Investment Partners, as head of ETF and indexed fund activities, said a spokesman for BNP Paribas IP.
The position is new, and Ms. Bourcier is also a member of THEAM’s executive committee. She reports to Denis Panel, CEO and chief investment officer.
The firm specializes in capital protection, indexed and model-driven strategies. It has €38 billion ($42.2 billion) in assets under management.
Ms. Bourcier is responsible for accelerating development of the firm’s indexed and exchange-traded fund investment strategies, and for implementing them in key markets across Europe. She leads the indexed management team of about 20 employees, based in Paris, and will supervise a new team focusing on indexed fund and ETF solutions sales. This team is currently being recruited.
“(Ms. Bourcier) is a well-known name in indexed management, and her appointment will give new momentum to the distribution of our indexed fund and ETF ranges and strengthen their sales in Europe,” Mr. Panel said in a news release.
Ms. Bourcier was head of business development at smart beta ETF specialist Ossiam, which is a subsidiary of Natixis Global Asset Management. Antoine Moreau, deputy CEO, said in a statement by e-mail: “There was no direct replacement for (Ms. Bourcier’s) role following her departure. The business development function is now shared by the Ossiam senior management team. We have devoted more resources to the sales team and developed partnerships with third-party marketers to cover Europe more systematically.”
Ossiam has $2.3 billion in AUM across ETFs and other strategies.
