Wendy Daniels was named senior vice president, health-care and government markets business leader, at VALIC.
The position is new, said Linda Malamut, a company spokeswoman, in an e-mail. “Wendy’s newly created role allows us to focus more on the health-care and government markets, which are vital to our growth in the defined contribution market,” Ms. Malamut wrote.
Ms. Daniels, who started May 23, reports to Eric Levy, executive vice president at VALIC, a division of American International Group.
Ms. Daniels had been senior vice president, retirement marketing strategy at Transamerica, according to the VALIC news release. Stephanie Zercher, a spokeswoman for Transamerica, could not be reached for comment.
