Carsten Schmitz and Joss Anstey were named co-heads of investment management at Winton Capital Group, a spokesman said.
Messrs. Schmitz and Anstey will gradually take on the roles from Matthew Beddall, chief investment officer, to ensure a smooth transition, said a statement Friday. Mr. Beddall will spend a year in the U.S. starting in August, “combining closer involvement in Winton's new ventures and data business units on the West Coast with academic study at several leading U.S. universities,” the statement said.
Mr. Beddall will join the board of Winton Ventures, which is part of the Winton Capital Group, and invests in companies focused on cybersecurity, data analysis and other related areas. He will remain on the board of the Winton Capital Group and Winton Capital Management.
Messrs. Schmitz and Anstey were most recently deputy directors of investment management at Winton, working under Mr. Beddall.
